Babbit's Metal
The original alloy recommended by Babbit was made up of the following ingredients: copper 4 lbs, antimony 8lbs, tin 24 lbs. To every pound of the above, 2 lb of tin was added.
many soft lining and anti-friction bearing metals have subsequently borne the name of "Babbit," but the above original alloy devised by Babbit himself.
