Copper Amalgam
Many types of copper amalgam have been used from time to time. Once containing 3 parts copper to 7 parts mercury is plastic, but hardens within a day or two. It has the property of softening and acquiring the consistency of clay by kneading and pounding. Other copper amalgams have been used for filling teeth, sealing vacuum tubes, bottles, etc.
Copper amalgam readily crystallizes. It can be rolled and hammered.
