Genelite
A "synthetic" bearing metal material consisting of graphite impregnated with metal. Developed in America by the General Electric Company. It has a low tensile strength (3.5 tons per square inch), but the material is very porous and will absorb about 3% of its weight of oil which is gradually exuded when the bearing is in use, thus maintaining the latter in a satisfactorily lubricated condition.
