Silicon Bronze
Used as a high strength casting alloy. Is mainly a copper-silicon alloy containing small amounts of metals such as manganese, zinc and iron. Typical composition:
a. copper 95%, silicon 4%, manganese 1%.
b. copper 88%, silicon 5%, iron 5%, zinc 2%.
They have tensile strengths of approximately 25 tons per square inch.
