Tungsten Steel
Tungsten is largely employed in the manufacture of "rapid-cutting" steels which may contain up to 18% of tungsten. Tungsten steel is silky, fine-grained, hard and durable.
Tungsten tool steels contain form 1% to 3% of tungsten. They keep their edges well. "High-speed-steel" for the making of cutting edges operating at high velocity are often composed of tungsten steel.
